Should we?

FL Today has an article in today's paper about online communities such as MySpace, Friendster, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Read about it HERE.

Coincidentally, the ypB Oversight Committee just revisited the motion to join an online community by creating our own page. We haven't made any decisions on this yet, but we would like to know your opinions on this matter. Should ypB join an online community? Why or why not? Which one should we join? Leave us your comments below!

What online community do you belong to?
Take our poll to the right and let us know!

Join a committee!

Update: Please note that the meeting date of the Personal Development Committee has changed from Friday to Tuesday!

Did you know that ypB has 7 different committees that members can become involved in? In fact, we've got two committee meetings coming up in the next few days; Personal Development Committee and the Volunteer Committee.

The Personal Development Committee was formed to help YP's transition into responsible adulthood. The committee is currently working on holding a first-time home buyers seminar, an investment seminar, and a monthly/quarterly book club focusing on how to succeed in your career. Does this interest you? Would you like to help pick out the reading materials for the book club? Are you a realtor or a mortgage broker who can offer some insight on buying a house? Then why not join the Personal Development Committee?! The next meeting will be held at Chowders (corner of US-1 and Suntree Blvd) at 5:30pm next Tuesday, July 17th.

Maybe volunteering for a good cause is more your style? Then we've got the committee for you! The ypB Volunteer Committee will hold its next meeting At Chili's in Melbourne (corner of Wickham and Sarno) at 5:30pm next Monday, July 16th. They will be continuing discussions about several upcoming events, including a potential poker tournament! Come ready to brainstorm new ideas and help solidify current volunteer opportunities!

See you all there!

Would you like to see ypB hold more cultural arts events? How about a group outing to see a show, a concert, or a play? Have a particular event in mind? Then why not join the Cultural Arts Committee?!

The Cultural Arts Committee is having its next meeting this Tuesday night, July 10th, at Murdock's in Cocoa Village at 5:30pm. Bring your ideas and get prepared to brainstorm new ones! We need YOU on our team!

Also, don't forget to SAVE THE DATE for our Second Anniversary Sandbar Soiree! This is a YP's must-see event of the year! There will be a DJ, great food, prize give-aways and much much more. So mark Friday August 24th from 7-10pm at the Melbourne Crowne Plaza on your calendar and don't miss it!
